New DME Secure Email application for iPhone

Excitor have recently released version 3.5.4 of their secure email iPhone application to the Apple Store. This new version has a number of key features to improve security of your enterprise data when deploying the iPhone for corporate use:

DME Address Book

In addition to the DME Calendar and To-dos, DME now contains a built-in Contacts application. This way, there can be complete separation between corporate data (in DME) and personal (in the native phone applications). You canĀ also synchronise the DME address book with the local Contacts.

Secure Contacts

Similar to the “Secure calendar” on other platforms, the DME Address Book on iPhone supports a limited synchronization of contacts to the native Contacts application. In “open” mode, the DME address book is fully synchronized with the native contacts. In “mixed” mode, only the contact’s name and phone number are copied to the native contacts. In “secure” mode, there is no interaction between the DME address book and the native
contacts.

A number of other enhancements have been made around usability of the Calendar and Phone functionality. Support is now available for the iPad.
