Both Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates have announced that certain Blackberry services will be banned. According to the BBC UAE will ban Blackberry email, internet browsing and Blackberry Messaging from October. Saudi Arabia is due to ban the Blackberry Messenger service later this month. It is claimed that the reasons for this is that data traffic using these services is routed through data centres out of either country, thereby being a security risk as traffic cannot be monitored.
